I bought a Ford Taurus in mild condition for $800 about 4 months ago, since then it’s needed some fixes that come with her age such as the head gasket that had began to leak, a radiator hose, and the wheel bearing have given me an issue but none of its been horrible to fix besides the bearing hubs. Mine had about 240k when I got it, it has about 250k now and aswell as the wheel bearings giving me issues the suspension is about shot and it either rolls over bumps like a cloud or it absolutely tanks hits like crossing the Grand Canyon in a T-34 Tank. But besides that, the 24v DOHC 3.0L V6 it has from being the SES/Sport package is just about pristine, meaning my silly 16yo self enjoys the power she puts down despite the old suspension and drivetrain fighting to keep up. I recommend you buy this car if you plan to have some fun with a first car or a beater, if you can find one with less than 120k miles. It’s also a really, really good project car if you plan to do focus on suspension work. Side note: the rust will either be there, or it’ll sneak up on you in the hardest places to find (the running boards on both of my Taurus’ have rotted off pretty horrifically.…
